Winter had lasted long enough. Demeter and Persephone — the moment the waiting ends. I painted them as one silhouette because that's what this reunion does: it makes separation feel impossible to remember. Look closely at the layers. Sunflowers. Seed pods still becoming. Birds that forgot they were supposed to stay gone. The whole world remembering how to begin again. New work. Part of my ongoing series Verbinding — about the ways women hold each other, across cultures and centuries.
