When the idea of buying a property in SW France became popular in the Netherlands and the UK, people bought ruined houses very cheaply, thinking they would restore them,but ignorant of the costs of materials for such a project they simply ran out of money and enthusiasm.

Over Elyn Fryer
I am living and working in a small village on the river Dordogne in the department of the Lot. I paint, usually in water colours, but also guache and oils and get my inspiration from taking photographs on long walks with my dogs. I am becoming increasingly aware of the potential piece of art in all I see. I love ruined agricultural buildings where nature has taken over once again.
