Untitled (Manual Entropy)

Manual Entropy explores the intersection of industrial obsolescence and biological persistence. By grafting a preserved botanical "bloom" onto the handle of a discarded hand tool, the work subverts the original utility of the object. The file—a tool defined by friction, resistance, and the shaping of hard materials—has surrendered its function to oxidation. This state of decay (entropy) is not presented as an end, but as a transition. The resin sphere acts as a static reliquary, trapping nature in a state of permanent suspension atop a relic of human labor. In Untitled (Manual Entropy), the masculine grit of the industrial past is literally "overgrown" by the delicate, silent logic of the natural world. It is a study of what remains when the hand stops working and the environment begins to reclaim the artifact.
