Last summer I visited National Monument Kamp Vught a memorial center of the former concentration camp. During my visit I was very impressed by the ongoing exhibition 'Ogen van de oorlog''. An exhibition that tells the story of people who have survived the camp. Their stories and faces inspired me to portray them. Photographer Rogier Fokke allowed me to use his intrguing portraits as a starting point for my paintings. Many thanks to him and to National Monument Kamp Vught
