MY PERFORMANCE AT THE CONVENTO THE SANTO DOMINGO2006 |
Better known as the Qoricancha, a huge Inca temple covered in gold, which the Dominicans with the help of Pizarro's brother seized for their own. I had an installation of feathers and my dance and song much to the horror of the 'pious' brothers, who shut the door of the gallery whenever I turned my back. I ride a feathered snake with a horse skull referring to the meeting of two worlds. |

MY PHALLIC MESTIZO ANIMAL FROM THE ANDES2006 |
This was the horse I rode during my performance at teh Convento de SANTO DOMINGO. After my performance it became an part of an installation in the convent's gallery. Much later I altered it once more for it to become part of the the 'VIRACOCHA'S PROHECY' installation in the Apacheta gallery. And in 2008 it received its last transformation and became 'el Mestizo' in my exhibition 'TORO VIVO' |

THE PROPHECY OF WIRACOCHA 32006 |
Top of the plumed serpent was surrounded by a kind of dream catcher in the shape of a teepee, which reached all the way to the floor which was salt from Maras. It stood in a square basin filled with salt and was marked in the four corners with corn eaves on sticks which represented the Inca tawantinsuyo and the four elements whcihc alos represented fertility. |
